24-30 December, 2008 China and Hong Kong
INTRODUCTION
As a continuation of the first Training Workshop for Asian Junior orienteers which has successfully been held during the APOC 2008 period in Korea in last summer, an orienteering training camp intended for the Asian juniors is scheduled to be held in China and Hong Kong from 24 to 30 December 2008.
The camp caters for junior orienteers (age 10-20) who wish to improve their orienteering skills and to foster friendships with each other. The camp consists two phases, Phase I will be held in Hong Kong from 24-27 December 2008 while phase II will be held in Guangzhou, China from 27-30 December.
CAMP DETAILS
Phase I – Hong Kong
The Asian orienteering Junior Training camp will be held in Tai Mo Shan area with. accommodation at Sze Lok Yuen Youth Hostel in the mid-way of Tai Mo Shan, the highest mountain in Hong Kong. Apart from technical trainings in orienteering, the participants will also have the chance to compete in the Hong Kong Youth Orienteering Championships held on 25 December 2008. Diploma will be awarded to place getters who are not eligible for the Championships prizes. Social function and experience sharing sessions will also be held during the training camp.
Start Wednesday, 24 December 2008, about 10.00am
End Saturday, 27 December 2008, about 9.00am
Location Training & competition will be held in Tai Lam Country Park at Tai Mo Shan
Accommodation Will be at the Sze Lok Yuen Youth Hostel. Dormitory type of accommodation with full board and lodging will be provided. You can get details about the hostel at their website http//www.yha.org.hk.
Other event Hong Kong Youth Orienteering Championships 2008
Camp Fee HK$1,000 which includes full board and lodging from 24-27 December, entry fees for HKYOC 2008 and traveling expenses during the training camp.
Registration Send your registration form along with the fee, to Orienteering Association of Hong Kong. The fees and form must be received by the OAHK by 20 November 2008.
Late entry will only be accepted if vacancy is available after the official Closing day of entry.

Phase II– Guangzhou, China
The Asian orienteering Junior Training camp will be continued by heading north to join the 1st Greater China Orienteering Open Competition and the 5th China National Orienteering Championships and training in Guangzhou of China. Guangzhou is a city of Guangdong Province of the southern part of China, which is at a distance of about one hour land transport from the border of Hong Kong.
Start Saturday, 27 December 2008, about 2.00pm
End Tuesday, 30 December 2008, about 4.00pm
Location Training & competitions will be held in Guangzhou, China
Accommodation Full board and lodging will be provided. Details will be announced later. Camp Fee RMB ¥900, which includes full board and lodging from 27-30 December, entry fees for YOC 2008 and traveling expenses during the training camp.

Cost? HK$1,000per person (including full board & lodging, event entry fee and
travelling expenses during the camp)
Capacity? 40 juniors from Asian countries or area
15 juniors from Hong Kong
Registration Deadline? November 20 2008 (Registration and full fees received by this date)
How to Register? Complete the registration form, including an outline of your orienteering
experience. Send your fee with your form. Make cheques or money orders,
in Hong Kong Dollars, payable to: “Orienteering Association of Hong Kong”.

Insurance ? All participants are advised to take out their personal insurance for taking
part in this event as the oragniser will only take out insurance on third party

Travelling arrangement to Participants participating in the Phase II Training Camp in Guangzhou, China ? Guangzhou may be required to apply their own visa to China.
Transport will be provided in an additional cost of about HK$400
for return trip.
